Green Newton brings together people and groups with a shared vision of promoting a green economy.
By creating connections through events and activities, we foster partnerships that lead to innovative projects and collective impact.
Engagement
Engaging residents, groups, and organizations is key to our success. To connect with the community:
● Leveraging Technology: We are developing a mobile app to provide up-to-date information on
local green initiatives, events, and environmental data. This tool will simplify access to resources
and create a central hub for all things green in Newton Abbot. We are also interested in
exploring the use of environmental footprinting.
● Workshops and Events: We will host collaborative workshops and events to gather ideas, share
best practices, and inspire collective action. The app will also serve as a platform to promote
existing and new events.
Building Momentum
Through a regular calendar of events, including arts and cultural activities, we aim to sustain community interest and involvement. As more people engage, we anticipate a virtuous cycle of creativity, collaboration, and action.
Developing Our Green Economy
We want to ensure that all of our local environmental initiatives are developed in ways that build capacity for economic prosperity, inward investment and job creation.
